Yeah, about that big ballyhooed return......

It didn't happen.

Hey, life can be shit sometimes, ya know? My shittines seems when I want to restart projects that I want to see keep going. Case in point: As soon as I thought I was ready to start typing here again, the clutch goes in my car. Maybe not that big of a deal, but my travel to work just got messed up big time, and I can also see a good chunk of my emergency cash going goodbye to repairs.

Oh well, time to give the tires another kick and get this baby going yet again. 8-bit Metal Mondays to return next Monday, along with a few columns to help get updated on all the gaming and evil metal I've been listening to.

Until then, stay classy, stay fleshy, and STAY METAL!!!

Nintendo and Limited Edition Insanity!!!!

So, let's talk greedy assholes and their ability to absolutely ruin the joy of limited edition stuff.

From the hell of Baphomet's grasp, I have returned!

Good day, everyone! Riff here, after an extended hiatus that was much needed. What happened? Well, read on.

This past summer, I pulled a major boondoggle. Attending both the Orion Festival and E3 back-to-back was probably one of my biggest mistakes ever. While I did enjoy myself at both shows, the combined time of being on my feet and running everywhere (not to mention all the jet lag that going to L.A. pertains) that it just wore me out physically and mentally.

Then I started a new job with insane hours. Boondoggle number two.

My hours were as such: work a shit ton in four days, have three days off. Doesn't sound like that bad of a deal, right? Well, I'm usually not getting off of work until at least three in the morning, and I am no vampire. As worn as I was before, this just killed me even more. So, I had to make a tough decision: I would wait until my mind and body got used to these late hours. I didn't know it would take me over half a year to do so, but that's the price you pay for getting older.

Finally, I feel ready to get back on the horse and start some writing again. In fact, I've already started a couple of reviews of games that I have for my PS4 (thank you tax return!), and those should be up in the next couple of days. Also, I'm once again attending both PAX East and E3 in the coming months, and I'm determined to get some decent camera footage of both events. Also, if funds hold out, I'd like to attend PAX Prime this year as well, but we'll see how that comes along. Finally, since I have a PS4 now, I'd like to do some live streaming here and there. I'll probably hold off until I get the camera attachment first.

There, so that's it for me now. As always, keep it metal!!!!

8-Bit Metal Mondays: The Black Dahlia Murder Love Detroit

Aw, crap, where did I go for a fucking week? Well, I GOTS ME A JOB!!!! Finally, after forever, I got an opportunity to put some honest greenbacks into my bank account. I hope a few of y'all can understand the need for some quick cash. Thus, I had to delay the typing of festivities from Orion and E3 until tomorrow and Wednesday.

Even more good news is that Black Dahlia Murder's video for Goat of Departure, which they filmed in Detroit and I attended, was just releases today. Thanks to power of the god of editing, yours truly makes an appearance! Granted, I had to really go through the whole thing to find me, but at the 2:20 mark, there I am behind the right shoulder of a fake Slash. Ah, may the fame now roll in.

So, here's that clip, along with some bleepy love.

8-bit Metal Mondays: Baroness Before Orion

Quick note: I won't be live blogging any of the press conferences today because I'll be airport bound here in just a few.  Before then, I wanted to touch on the  pre-Orion show Baroness performed. First off, the Metallica boys themselves went on stage to introduce the guys. then the band themselves became extra pumped and put on an incredible performance. Hell, i'd be ready to do anything if Metallica mc'd me onto the stage.

Short and sweet here. let's get to the bleepy action, then i'm airborne.
