Leng Tch'e's Hypomanic: Another Disturbying Review

How about some angry Belgium Metal for a Sunday? Well too bad because that's what you're going to get. Riff passed this album along to me to review and didn't really say much else about the record. I never heard of these guys so I didn't know what to expect. I checked out the band's Wiki article and it tells me that these guys are a Deathgrind band out of Belgium. What the hell is Deathgrind? Well apparently it's what these guys sound like.

Remember when I mentioned yesterday that I have a problem with bands whose songs all sound the same? Of course you do. Well Leng Tch'e is a perfect example. There are 14 songs on this album and it could have easily been a single 41 minute long track and no one would have noticed. I guess they split it into 14 tracks so people can skip around the song to their favourite parts.

Now I'm not saying that the music is bad. It's actually pretty good. The new vocalist has a great growl and the music is very aggressive and fast-paced. These guys probably put on a great metal show and I wouldn't mind checking them out if they ever make it to my neck of the woods. I just probably wouldn't have this CD playing on a long road trip is all. Leng Tch'e is the type of band that I can enjoy in small bursts.

Hypomanic is set to be released..... yesterday? What the fuck? Well I guess I dropped the ball on this one. Either that or the release date was entered incorrectly and it will actually hit the streets on Tuesday like every normal CD out there. For more info on the album and order information click here.
