Rockstar Uproar: Another fest I'd pay money to see

Of course, that all depends if the damn thing even bothers to come around to my neck of the woods, that is.

So, another fest pops up wanting all your money, but this one has a twist. Uproar is going for a more totally main stream appeal, as there's not a single underground metal on the bill. No death, no speed, no grind, no thrash. Of course, this also means no Hot Topic support, but sometimes, you just gotta make sacrifices ya know?

So, let's take a look at this line-up first, and then rip it apart after the jump.

Main Stage:

Disturbed
Avenged Sevenfold
Stone Sour
Halestorm

J├Ągermeister Second Stage:

HELLYEAH
Airbourne
Hail The Villain
New Medicine

The big deal here is A7X, who will be doing their first tour since their original drummer, Jimmy “The Rev” Sullivan, was found dead last year. Have they found a new guy? Will they have a drum machine? Did they just totally screw themselves? We'll just have to wait a bit longer to see. I've seen Disturbed enough times to stop caring, and I'll never stop caring about Stone Sour. Halestorm has a good looking lead chick singer with a decent set of knockers, so that'll distract me from their bland radio rock.

The second stage has a good start with Hellyeah. Yes, I like the band and their songs about alcohol and drinking said alcohol. I'm one fourth redneck redneck, okay? Give me a break! Airbourne is always a treat, and their drummer is one hell of a gamer nerd, so that's a big plus. Never heard of Hail the Villain or New Medicine, so I'll hold judgment until showtime.

Once again, I'd totally see this, but I'd leave early and miss Disturbed so I can beat the traffic.

And now, your official tour dates. Note there's a few TBA dates in there, so there's still some hope for a few of us out there. Like, oh, say, Detroit, if one was so inclined.

  1. Doesn't look like Dream Theater has any dates during this run, so maybe Mike Portnoy will be touring with A7X..... since he's drumming on their new record.

Also, check out Hail the Villan if you haven't already. They're writing a huge story that's to be told in their music, comic books and whatever else they can get published. They're from somewhere in Ontario and sound a lot like Metallica, but in a good way.
