8-bit Metal Mondays-Lose Half Yo'self

What a weird time it is to be a fan of Chimaira. Within a span of what seems like a few weeks, half the band decided to walk. Bassist Jim LaMarca went on to do a bunch of side projects and be a dad, programmer Chris Spicuzza founded his own Ipod game company, and drummer Andols Herrick moved on to do, um, well, whatever the hell he wanted to do. To make matters worse, the guys just signed a new record deal and were already in the studio when people started ditching.

Well, to combat this, the Ohio boys got creative. First, they had their producer, Ben Schigel, complete all the drum track. Then main band song writer and lead guitarist Rob Arnold recorded all the bass tracks himself, and had a handful of friends help with the programming and synth tracks. Then, the live version of the band was formed. Emil Werstler, lead guitarist of Daath, became the new bassist, Daath lead vocalist (and former interview victim) Sean Z will do the programming, and Austin D'Amond, a meeber of one of Rob's side projects, is the new drummer. Hey, I love me some Daath, so this suits me just fine, as long as Daath continues to exist.

So, in honor of the new line-up and the new album, we're gonna do some bleepy Chimaira for ya. Why look, they even have some Daath too! Here Chimaira's Implements of Destruction and Daath's Day of Endless Light.
