Last Week in Video Games

Another week goes by and still no Playstation store. What the balls guys? I mean, I understand that the downtime wasn't anyone's plan but it's starting to get a little ridiculous! Did you know that the XBox Live Marketplace went down last week? NO? Well it was only down for a few hours, so you may not of noticed. Anyway, lets see what else is going on the video game world.

First (or second...) I want to thank you for putting down L.A. Noire for a moment to come on the internet and read the blog. It means a lot to us here, and we really appreciate it. I'd like to say that I managed to pull myself away from the game to write it for you but I don't actually have the game cause I'm full of lame.

But how 'bout L.A. Noire eh? Rockstar and Take Two are so happy with the reception it's been getting that they've decided to keep the development team around for a little while. This could mean sequels or DLC to look forward to in the future. Surely it shouldn't come as that big of a surprise as video game sequels are the way to go these days. Hopefully they won't go too crazy where everyone gets sick of the franchise.

So a live-action Phoenix Wright movie was rumoured and then confirmed last week. However, it will be a Japanese film so who knows if we'll ever see it stateside. Personally, I don't think that North Americans are the right audience for a Phoenix Wright movie. Sure, the hardcore, anime lovers will probably eat that shit up. But the rest of us could- OBJECTION!!

Hideo Kojima didn't have a very good Monday last week. He posted some pretty emo-esque updates on his twitter about being sad and having something you've worked on mean nothing. Everyone assumes that some kind of project he was working on got cancelled, but so far no one has been able to get any details out of him. On the bright side, Kojima said that he has something special planned for Metal Gear's 25th anniversary next year, so keep your eyes on the lookout for that.

Tidbits
  • Zelda will also be celebrating its 25th anniversary next year...... no pressure Nintendo
  • A new Shinobi title might be heading to the 3DS. No ninjas can hurt your eyes too!
  • The Uncharted movie has lost it's Director/Writer. I guess Nathan Drake will have to search for a new one. (pun intended)
  • Play the first 30 minutes of Red Faction: Armageddon for free. Stream it here. Yes, I said stream.
  • While I'm in a linking mood, download the Portal 2 soundtrack here.
  • Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition (doing this name thing again, eh Capcom?) while only feature 15 fighters will playing offline on PC. LAME FACE
