Tour Annoncement: Gojira w/ Devin Townsend Project & The Atlas Moth

Christmas has come a little bit early for this Gojira and Devin Townsend fan, though I will have to wait until after Christmas to open this sweet, sweet gift. Announced this weekend on the Full Metal Jackie show, Gojira and the DTP will be heading out on a North American tour starting in mid January of 2013. The tour will run for just over a month but will see the two metal juggernauts play in 25 cities. A full list of dates and more info on the tour can be found after the jump.

Gojira will be taking to the road in support of L'Enfant Sauvage (The Wild Child) which was released back in June of this year to some decent sales and was well received. Gojira is slowly taking over the metal scene with their blend of progressive, thrash and death metal. As a long time fan it has been fun to watch this step out from obscurity to be one of this most acclaimed names in metal without compromising their style or sound. The band is closing out 2012 with a tour of Europe in November and then a metal festival in India.

The Devin Townsend Project (DTP for my finger's sake) will be supporting their fifth album titled Epicloud (Epi-Cloud? Epic-Loud? Whatever floats your boat). DTP has been gaining a ton of momentum since the 2009 release of Addicted!. Devin Townsend has been bleeding himself dry for his fans by constantly writing and touring, which comes as a bit of surprise as it seemed that he was done with touring after stepping away from Strapping Young Lad in 2006. The DTP is preparing for The Retinal Circus which is a one night only event that has been sold out for over a year. The show is described by Townsend as being "a retrospective of my career in music to date."
