Rest In Peace Mitch Lucker - UPDATED

The metal community has lost one of its brothers today. Mitch Lucker, lead singer of extreme metal band Suicide Silence was killed in a motorcycle accident. The accident occured earlier today in California. Full details have not been revealed at this point and I will update as they are offered. Luckner was 28.

More details after the break.

Lucker lost control of his motorcycle on Wednesday evening and was thrown from the bike. The bike continued moving and slammed into a pickup truck. Lucker was taken to the University of California Medical Centre and passed away on Thursday. No one else was injured in the accident. Police have not revealed if Lucker was under the influence during the time of the incident which occured just hours after a tweet of his Halloween costume.

Here is a statement from the rest of Suicide Silence from the band's Facebook Page:
"There's no easy way to say this. Mitch passed away earlier this morning from injuries sustained during a motorcycle accident. This is completely devastating to all of us and we offer our deepest condolences to his family. He will be forever in our hearts. R.I.P. Mitchell Adam Lucker. We love you, brother."

And here is a statement from Nuclear Blast, Suicide Silence's record label:
"Nuclear Blast would like to offer our condolences to his family, friends, band members and fans worldwide who are affected by this loss. He left us doing what he loved to do most. He was 28 years old and will be sorely missed."

  1. Found out myself about Mitch late last night at work, and I was shocked. Terrible timing too, as they had really grown into a great live act and had also signed a new record deal. Just a damn shame.
